All I know is that even though Spain is favored, they are going to have to prove to me that they can win this thing. Seems like each world Cup they have high expectations then lose to someone they have no business losing to. No idea who will win it but if I had to guess, I'd say Spain doesn't even make the semi final based on past reputation.

One of the reasons they're amongst the favouites is their success in the European Nations tournament 2008. They won all their games in the first round with a goal difference of 8 For and 3 Against. In the knock-out stages they drew 0-0 with the World champions Italy then won the penalty decider. They followed this with a 3-0 win over Russia before beating Germany 1-0 in the final.

They also won all eight of their qualifying matches to make it to South Africa.

While it is true that luck (good or bad) can play a decisive part in any sporting activity I don't think there will be a 'Spanish Jam' in this show. (Though it pains me to say it).
